Reference numbers & formats

1. Reference numbers

Within both the incoming and outgoing messages, different reference numbers will be used, to (uniquely) identify the Temporary storage Declaration and Presentation Notification. In general, the following reference numbers will be used:

  • LRN – Local reference number: Reference of the Economic Operator.
  • CRN – Customs reference number: Unique identification assigned to each validated TSD
  • FRN – Functional reference number: Unique identification assigned to each validated PN
  • MRN – Master reference number: Unique identification assigned to each validated and presented TSD

As part of the incoming messages (messages to be submitted by the Economic Operator), the following reference are to be used (see Incoming messages for more details):

  • — IETS007 : Submit PN ; IETS015 : Submit Pre-Lodged TSD ; IETS115 : Submit Combined TSD ; IETS207 : Submit Transfer notification ; IETS215 : Submit Deconsoli-dation notification ; IETS414 : Invalidate TSD ; IETS413 : Amend TSD

2. Formats

With regards of the formats to be used for the different attributes within the incoming messages, the format is described within the message specification. For example: n1, an..4, etc.

The same is applicable for the outgoing messages (sent by Customs to the Economic Operator) as feedback to submitted messages / updates during the business processing of the messages.

For the timestamp attributes applicable in the messages, it should be noted that the following structure is applicable.

The format Timestamp an20: YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ssZ is used for all business fields requiring a date and time value, in both the incoming and outgoing messages. The timestamp value contains:

  • A date in ‘YYYY-MM-DD' format with ‘YYYY’ as year, ‘MM’ as month, ‘DD’ as day, and ‘-’ as separator between the parts of the date

  • ‘T’ separator between the date and the time of the day

  • A time in ‘hh:mm:ssZ’ format with ‘hh’ as hours, ‘mm’ as minutes, ‘ss’ as seconds, ‘Z’ to indicate that the time is converted in zulu time zone, and ‘:’ as separator between hours, minutes and seconds.

For example: 2022-01-31T12:34:56Z

The format Timestamp an..35 : YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss.SSSSSSSSSzzzzzz is used for the ‘Message timestamp’ as part of the ‘Message header’ in both the incoming and outgoing messages. The timestamp value contains:

  • A date in ‘YYYY-MM-DD' format with ‘YYYY’ as year, ‘MM’ as month, ‘DD’ as day, and ‘-’ as separator between the parts of the date

  • ‘T’ separator between the date and the time of the day

  • A time in ‘hh:mm:ss.SSSSSSSSSzzzzzz’ format with ‘hh’ as hours, ‘mm’ as minutes, ‘ss’ as seconds, ‘.SSSSSSSSS’ as

optional fraction of seconds (‘.’ followed by minimum 1 to maximum 9 digits), ‘zzzzzz’ as time zone indicator (per default ‘Z’ to indicate that the time is converted in zulu time zone, or else a specific time zone in format ‘[+/-]hh:mm’ with ‘+’ or ‘-’ to specify ahead or behind zulu time, ‘hh’ as hours, and ‘mm’ as minutes), and ‘:’ as separator between hours, minutes and seconds.

For example:

  • 2021-01-31T12:34:56Z

  • 2021-01-31T12:34:56.123456789Z

  • 2021-01-31T12:34:56+01:00

  • 2021-01-31T12:34:56.123456789+01:00

In all outgoing messages, the ‘Message timestamp’ will be formatted as YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss.SSSSSSSSSZ , for example: 2021-01-31T12:34:56.123456789Z
